Dzintaru 23-1/ 132 m2
Apartment with a terrace in the dune area in Jurmala, in the residential complex Villa al mare. The main wish of the owners of this apartment was to create a classic look for the space with elements of minimalism.
The layout and simple forms in the furniture are responsible for minimalism in this space. The classic canon is represented by the ceiling cornice, rosettes on the ceiling and wall moldings with minimal detail.
The apartment was divided into five main areas: a kitchen combined with a living room, a master bedroom with its own wardrobe and knitting room, a guest bedroom with its own bathroom and wardrobe, a separate laundry room and a bathroom with a shower and a free-standing bathtub.
The initial data largely dictated the interior decisions. A partition made of metal and fluted glass, separating the corridor from the living room, appeared there instead of a wall, since the customers absolutely did not want to enter a dark corridor without natural light upon entering.
To accommodate air conditioning and ventilation, the ceiling in the hallway and bathroom had to be lowered. To get rid of the oppressive feeling, concealed doors were chosen to match the color of the walls to create intimacy and coziness with a pearl in the form of a glass partition in fluted glass with a black frame.
All built-in furniture was designed by the designer, thinking through the layout of the facades and joints of materials.
Each room has little details that are pleasing to the eye. For example, in the master bedroom, wallpaper with a wool texture was used on the walls. As an accent, behind the head of the bed we placed wallpaper in a frame made of metal profile in matte black, which gave the space a graphic feel.
The shared bathroom reflects the concept of the apartment by combining contrasting colors between finishes and accent pieces.
It’s interesting that the project was mainly implemented using 3D collages. The customer was very involved in the process, and we managed to discuss and come up with a lot together, enjoying the process
Meza 4a-58/ 134 m2
The apartment located in a beautiful and spiritual place with excellent infrastructure. Nearby is the Orthodox Church, opposite is the university, and next to it is a music school, where the owner teaches piano lessons.
The architecture of the house is built in the Neo-Gothic style, the windows are lancet, thanks to which any landscape seems to become a master piece placed in a frame that you want to admire.
The environment suggested the idea for the project - meditative monochrome. The initial data was successful: eight windows on two sides. An area of 134 m2 made it possible to plan a practical space for a family with two children.
The space is remembered by its pure geometry and variety of textures. Rough reclaimed brick and plaster work alongside neutral wall tones and classic moldings on the walls and ceiling, while contrasting black and white elements enliven the restrained palette. We framed the window slopes in graphite-colored wood, and covered the radiators behind grilles made of the same material. The main flooring was double-layer French herrinbone oak parquet in a warm honey shade.
80% of the furniture is made according to our sketches. The result was a balanced basis on which urban and classical elements harmoniously became friends
Dzintaru 23-12/114,23 m2
Apartment on the second floor with a balcony in the dune area in the residential complex Villa Al Mare in Jurmala. Clients from Moscow.
The main request was to create a bright, functional space where the family could spend their leisure time, mainly in the summer, since the apartment wasn't purchased for permanent housing. In this project almost everything was ordered from Italy, except finishing materials (parquet, tiles). The client has excellent taste, so she actively participated in the creation of the design project. Therefore, the result couldn't fail to be a wonderful embodiment of a dream into reality.
Dzintaru 23-6/ 105 m2
Apartment with a large terrace in the dune area in Jurmala, in the residential complex Villa al mare. The facade of the building is made in the traditional Jurmala style - Jugend style with a modern twist. This is a house where past and present meet, a kind of retro aesthetic.
The first thing that caught my eye when visiting the apartment for measurements was the beautiful view of endless pine trees and the sea. This view served as inspiration for the entire project. I wanted to see the apartment in coastal dune shades with a natural texture that would give the interior a noble character. This interior is built on three pillars - wood, stone and plaster. A sort of game of textures and air.
It seems to me that visual silence is necessary in any space: when every thing is in its place and there is no overload. The apartment is clearly divided into 3 zones: public and private.
The public area contains: an entrance hall, a shared bathroom with shower, a guest room/office and a large kitchen-living-dining room, and the private area has a master bedroom, a wardrobe, and a master bathroom. The storage areas in the house are as hidden as possible, except of open shelves for storing books and champions cups (the customer is a champion golfer and also loves to read).
